Glen K. Sheets Sr., 91, Nevada, passed away on Sunday, June 17, at his home in Nevada. Glen was born April 10, 1927, in Nevada to Albro C. and Edna Mae (Kibler) Sheets.

Glen was raised in Nevada and attended Nevada High School. At the age of 17, he joined the United States Marines and was stationed in Camp LeJeune during World War 2. Following his service years, Glen was employed as a Tool and Die Maker for over 50 years in Wichita and Kansas City. In 1992 he retired from Northrup in Kansas City and returned to Nevada where he has continued to reside. He was a member of the Nevada Elks BPO No. 564 in Nevada.

Survivors include two sons, Glen Sheets Jr. and his wife Patricia, Wichita, Kan., Paul Sheets and his wife Shelley, Flint, Mich.; three daughters, Virginia Hauer and her husband Mel, Dallas, Texas, Sandra Guarino, and her husband Paul, Independence, Mo., Connie Sheets-Thomas, Blue Springs, Mo.; 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Herbert Sheets; and two sisters, Virginia Mitchem and Joy Mynatt.

Glen was a loving father and will be missed by his family and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 22, in the Ferry Funeral Home Chapel in Nevada with the Rev. Sharon Freeman officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Newton Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
