Kenneth Eugene Gatley

Kenneth Eugene Gatley, 91, Warrensburg, Mo., formerly of El Dorado Springs, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg. Ken was born Aug. 25, 1927, in Independence, Mo., to John Bryant and Helen (Baucom) Klotz.

Ken attended school in Independence and graduated from Northeast High School in 1947. Following high school he served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Ken worked as an aide and in the business office at the Nevada State Hospital in accounting and bookkeeping. He moved to Virgil City about 1986 where he lived until moving to Grain Valley to be near his family. Ken was a member of the First Baptist Church in Grain Valley.

Ken is survived by nieces and nephews, Theresa Wilcox, Independence, Mo., William Wilcox, Moberly, Mo., and Robert Wilcox, Sedalia, Mo.; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services with military honors will be 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 22, in the Ferry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Sam Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., prior to the service. A private burial will follow in Virgil City Cemetery at a later time.

Memorials may be made to the Virgil City Cemetery Association in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
