Benton Elementary staff member tests positive for COVID-19

In a release from the Nevada R-5 School District sent to parents Thursday, it was announced that there is another confirmed positive COVID-19 case in the district.

"Today, we received notification of a Benton Elementary staff member who tested positive for COVID-19. There are no close contacts related to this case."

The case is the latest in a series of recent COVID-19 cases within the district. Earlier this week, it was announced that two middle school students and one high school staff member tested positive for COVID-19.
