The votes are in; Republicans take the unofficial wins

Wednesday, November 4, 2020

A total of 13,166, or 70 percent of Vernon County’s voters Tuesday to cast their ballots in the general election.

Locally, the incumbent candidates for county commission seats were reelected, as well as the sheriff, who ran unopposed.

Vernon County voters also said yes to two state amendments on the ballot:

No. 1, Do you want to amend the Missouri Constitution to extend the two term restriction that currently applies to the governor and treasurer to the Lt. Governor, secretary of State, auditor and the attorney general?

No. 3, Shall the Missouri Constitution be amended to ban gifts from paid lobbyists to legislators an their employees, reduce legislative campaign contribution limits and change the redistricting process voters approved in 2018 by transferring responsibility from state legislative districts from the non partisan state demographer to governor appointed bipartisan commissioner; modify and reordering the redistricting criteria?
