Scott Francis Vanskike

Scott Francis Vanskike, 48, of Nevada, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at his home following a brief illness. He was born Feb. 17, 1972, in San Francisco, Calif., to Walter L. and Marsha A. (Vernarecci) Vanskike. On July 28, 2000, Scott married Marqui D. Cook in Redmond, Ore., and she survives of the home.

Scott grew up in Ronert Park, Calif., and attended school there. He continued his education in Oregon, where he lived and worked until 2007, and pursued a career as a truck driver. In 2007, Scott moved to Nevada where he worked for McInroy Construction for several years and has worked at 3M for the past seven years.

In addition to his wife, Marqui, survivors include five children, Christopher Baily of Nevada, Heather Beason (Donald) of Sheldon, Mo., Mariah Vanskike of Nevada, Walter Vanskike of Nevada, and Tylor Vanskike of Nevada; two grandchildren, Caliber Beason and Luretta Beason; one sister, Stacy Vanskike of Pennsylvania; one nephew, Troy Bridgeman of Oregon; one uncle, Bruce Vernarecci (Cindy) and their children, Molly and Sarah, of Oregon. Scott was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 11, at the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints, in Nevada, at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m., prior to the service at the church.

Memorial contributions can be made to the family in care of Ferry Funeral Home.

Those in attendance will be asked to maintain social distancing and are asked to wear face masks to protect themselves and others.
