Bertha May Wright

Bertha May Wright, 80, Milo, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at Nevada Regional Medical Center, in Nevada. Bertha was born Feb. 26, 1940, in Sheldon, Mo., to James Ira and Hellene Francis (Leigh) Holland. She married Chester Leon Wright on May 25, 1957, in Nevada, and he survives of the home.

Bertha grew up in rural Vernon County where she attended school in Bellamy and Sheldon. She worked on the family farm and in healthcare for most of her adult life, including a nursing home for several years, the State Hospital in Nevada for 22 years, and home health for an additional three years. She also worked at Thorco for another five years until her retirement. Bertha was a member of Milo Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, survivors include her children, Lonnie Joe Wright, Milo, Mo., Terri Len Wright, Carthage, Mo., and Rose Marie Taylor, Pensacola, Fla.; grandchildren, Floyd and Rex Clark; her sister, Sarah Joanne Poeltz; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Steven Leon Wright, and one grandson, Roy Allen Clark.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Those in attendance will be asked to maintain social distancing and are asked to wear face masks to protect themselves and others.
