Ovida Ellen Vincent, 85, Nevada, MO passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, KS. Ovida was born January 24, 1935 to Robert and Mary (Jamison) Jadlot, She was united in marriage to Charles Vincent on May 11, 1957 in Springfield, MO and he preceded her in death on June 25, 2009.

After graduating from El Dorado Springs High School with the Class of 1953, Ovida came to Nevada and worked at the South Western Bell phone office as an operator. She was a member of First Christian Church in Nevada, and was also a Children’s Director at Moss House, a job Ovida enjoyed very much.

Ovida is survived by her children, Ronald Vincent (Julie), Nevada, and Linda Harreld (and the late Billy Harreld), Nevada; grandchildren, Stephanie Otter (Cory), Aaron Lofquest (Elizabeth), Clayton Harreld (Melissa), Brooklynn Vincent, and Kaitlynn Vincent; and two great grandsons, Braxton and Brady Otter. In addition to her husband Charles, she was preceded in death by her parents; her son-in-law, Billy Harreld; one granddaughter, Marissa Harreld; and two brothers, Stanley Jadlot, and Robert Jadlot, Sr.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Moore Cemetery in Nevada with Pastor Bill Platt officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.

Memorials are suggested to Vernon County Youth Fair c/o Ferry Funeral Home.

At this time there is no longer a statewide limitation on the number of people attending funerals or visitations, however those in attendance will be asked to maintain social distancing, and that people are asked to wear face masks to protect themselves and others.
