Wildcats back out of their game just hours before tip

Saturday, February 27, 2021

The Logan-Rogersville High School boys basketball team informed Nevada on Friday afternoon, just hours before the two teams were scheduled to face off in their regular season finale, that it would not be making the trip.

The cancellation (which included a junior varsity game) deprived Tigers hoops fans of what was expected to be a highly competitive showdown against an 18-5 Wildcats team that many believe to be one of the best in all of Class 5 — let alone the Big 8 Conference.

As a result, Nevada will ride its 12-game winning streak and 19-5 record into district play next week.

The Tigers will host Harrisonville (16-8) at 7 p.m Tuesday inside Wynn Gymnasium.
