Donald R. Flagor

Donald R. Flagor, 81, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021, at Nevada Regional Medical Center, in Nevada. Don was born Aug. 10, 1939, in Deerfield, Mo., to Reuben E. and Sarah E. (Lolley) Flagor. He married Jean Hammer on June 24, 1960, in Nevada, and she survives of the home.

Donald grew up in Vernon County and graduated from Walker High School. He worked for a time at Kraft Foods in Nevada, and the State Hospital as an aide in the Vocational Rehab Unit. He retired from MoDOT in 1997 following 35 years of employment. Don enjoyed selling antiques with his wife, he loved to hunt, fish, and plant trees.

In addition to his wife, Jean, survivors include three children, Donna Burchell (Steve), Nevada, Mo., La Vern Taylor (Mike), Marble Hill, Mo., and Don Flagor Jr. (April), Olathe, Kan.; three grandchildren, Ethan Burchell, Justin Flagor, and Wesley Flagor; two great-grandchildren, Konnor Burchell and Aiden Burchell; one sister, Cinthia Pettis, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Flagor and Zetta Flagor; and extended family and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Earl and Virgil Flagor.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 19, at Newton Burial Park, in Nevada, with Pastor Terry Mosher officiating. Friend may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested in his memory to Barone Alzheimer’s Care Center in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
