Larry L. Franks

Larry L. Franks, 76, died Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at the Shepherd's Center in Cimarron, Kan.

Larry was born July 14, 1944, in Nevada, Mo., the son of Verner Eugene and Mildred (McWherter) Franks. He managed Howard Johnson restaurants and worked for Stark Wholesale, based in Wichita. He also worked for Midwest Petroleum, which operated Stop 2 Shop convenience stores throughout northwest Kansas. He enjoyed RVing, camping, and traveling.

Larry was preceded in death by his first wife, Myra (Marshall) Franks. From their union is a surviving son, Alex.

On June 28, 1970, Larry married Johnna Carroll in Fredonia, Kansas. She preceded him in death on October 8, 2014.

Larry was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Orton Wilson.

Survivors include: 2 sons, Alex Franks and wife Melissa of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, and Johnnie Franks of Moline, Kansas; 2 daughters, Sharon Hoskinson and husband Shannon of Cimarron, Kansas and Kim Becker and husband Bobby of Cimarron, Kansas; 3 sisters, Hazel Nell Wilson of Nevada, Missouri, Carol Jean Janes and husband Jerry of Nevada, Missouri, and Judy Lee Gazaway and husband Glenn of Moundville, Missouri; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at a later date in Moundville, Missouri. There will be no public visitation, as cremation has taken place.
