Evelyn Pauline Boyd, 80, formerly of Nevada passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021, in Lee’s Summit, Mo., following a short illness. Evelyn was born July 5, 1940, in Nevada, Mo., to Arthur M. and Rosalene V. (Kiger) Barker. She married Calvin E. Boyd I, on July 16, 1966, in Las Vegas, Nev., and he preceded her in death.

Evelyn was raised in Nevada and attended Nevada Schools. She was a homemaker. Her hobby and passion was crafting. Evelyn owned and operated her own craft shop, “Grandma’s Handmade Dolls” in Nevada for a number of years. She also had a special love of dogs, especially her own. To Evelyn, family was the most important thing in her life.

Survivors include four children, Dianna Stewart (Steve), Lee’s Summit, Ricky Ayers, Nevada, Calvin E. Boyd II, Nevada, and Kevin Boyd, Nevada; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Sharlene Sisson, Nevada; one brother, Tom Barker, Independence, Mo.; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her husband, Calvin, she was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Katheryn Sue Anderson; one granddaughter, Christina Marie Boyd; one great-granddaughter, Kynedi Jo Boyd; an infant brother, Allen Eugene Barker; brother, Larry Barker; and two sisters, Nola Barker, and Carol Anderson.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 29, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada, with Jake Welty officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park in Nevada. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Tuesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
