Same town.

Same scores.

Different results.

That was how things played out for Nevada golfers Emree Cameron and Owen Swearingen this week at the Missouri Golf Association’s 2021 Junior Amateur Championship on the Posse course of the Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithville.

Cameron finished third in the 14-15-year-old girls division (out of nine different age/gender groups), shooting a 78 on Tuesday and an 81 on Wednesday for a combined score of 159 (15-over-par). She sank three birdies, two on par-3s on the front nine of day one, the other on the par-4 no. 16 on day two.

Going into day two, Cameron was in second place and just two strokes back of eventual champion Bailey Burkett, who ended up with the low score out of all the female competitors (a 9-over-par 153).

Swearingen also shot a 78 (on day two) and an 81 (one day one) for a 15-over-par 159 — including three birdies on Wednesday — but ended up tied for 31st in the 16-18-year old boys division along with Joey Slipke of Kearney and Jackson Kreisman of Columbia.

Orrick’s Dylan Comstock won the event with a 5-under-par 139.
