One driver earned $1,000.

Another picked up his 1,000th point of the season.

And in between, there was plenty of high-speed action on the dirt track Saturday night at Nevada Speedway.

As expected, the 25-lap feature race of the event — Midwest Mods, with its $1,000 first-place prize courtesy of Budweiser — attracted the most drivers vying for the checkered flag.

When the dust settled from the field of 26, it was Humboldt's Scott Collins (no. 18) who took home the top prize.

In his first win at Nevada Speedway this year, Collins patiently moved up from his starting position in fifth to take the lead late and win the high-stakes race.

Collins edged out another 2021 first-timer, Springfield's Pete Richardson (64) — who took home $500 for his second-place effort.

A more familiar face, Ryan Smith (15R) of Moran, Kan., finished in third place, which was good enough for $400 in his fourth race of the season.

Midwest Mods points leader Jordan Beard (2J) of Liberal finished fourth ($300), and Caden Bolin (X1) of Fort Scott, Kan., was fifth ($200) despite starting in 16th to round out the top-five finishers in the class.

No points were awarded to any Midwest Mods drivers.

Scott Mohlfeld (6M), meanwhile, continued his dominating ways in Outlaw 4-Cylinders, starting in third out of three drivers before winning his 10th checkered flag in as many races. The victory over Mike Baxter (96; second place) and Rocky Stone (8H; third) earned Mohlfeld another 100 points, giving him 1,000 on the season. Baxter remains in the hunt, though, with 904.

Saturday saw a pair of wire-to-wire wins, including Chris Kircher (29K) in Street Stocks and Brian Bolin (X2) in B-Mods.

Bolin fended off Scotty Bough (11S), who won last week's race but finished second this time around the track, and Dustin Beasley (14D), who in his first race car in six years started right behind Bolin in second but ended up crossing the finish in third. Rounding out the top-five in the class: Joe Cummings (14R; fourth) and Ryan Hill (15; fifth).

Camdenton's Toby Ott (27) trailed Kircher the entire way in Street Stocks to take second place, while Craig Spencer (30) of Liberal finished third, Brandon Hall (82) was fourth, and Brandon Douty (21) came in fifth.

Lamar native Joshua Parcell (4T) picked up a thrilling win in his seventh Pure Stocks race of the season, starting in second but crossing the finish in first just ahead of pole-sitter and points leader Jerry Wheeler (3), who settled for second.

Corey Cagle (99B) moved up from fifth to finish third, with points leader Raymond Sworde (36) taking fourth and John Goodwin (83) rounding out the top-five in the class.

Mini Stocks points leader Josh Barker (17) earned another win in his 11th race of the season, beating out (in order) Rick Andres (9BK), Ty Davis (27), Jackson Louis (88), and Tracy Tate (18tc).

The Speedway will have even more cash to give away at the 2nd Annual Screamin' Lehmann Memorial event on Saturday (rescheduled from June 26) — this time in the Street Stocks feature race.

As of Monday, the payout for first place in that race was up to $3,781. Second place stands at $771, third place at $571, fourth place at $400, and fifth place at $271.

All other classes will compete for track points, as well as special no. 71-themed prizes (to honor longtime Speedway staple Karl Lin "Screamin'" Lehmann) ranging from $171 to $371.
