Carolyn Sue Mock

Carolyn Sue Mock, 69, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Thursday, Augu. 19, 2021, at her home in Nevada following a brief illness. Carolyn was born Dec. 25, 1951, in Butler, Mo., to Howard K. and Bernice M. (Heiman) Griggs. She was united in marriage to Gary D. Mock on Feb. 7, 1970, in Stockton, Mo., and he survives of the home.

Carolyn was raised in Rockville, Mo., and graduated from St. Francis Academy in Nevada in 1969. A homemaker all her life, she loved her family, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Carolyn enjoyed sewing, takin care of her plants, feeding and watching her birds.

In addition to her husband Gary, she is survived by four children: Kellie Johnson (Brantley), Richards, Mo., Kevin Mock (Buffie), Stilwell, Kan., Gerald Mock (Katie), Diamond, Mo., and Theresa Vaughn, Nevada, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Colten, Chelsie, Chealea, Caitlin, Gavin, Dawson, Addyson, Clayton, Rhyan, and Cale; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Dean Griggs (Brenda), Bolivar, Mo., Donna Spangler, Stockton, Helen Pyle (Larry), Stockton, and Robert Griggs (Lisa), Fair Play, Mo.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Linda; and a brother, Gene Griggs.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Aug. 23, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Children’s Mercy Hospital in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
