Larry Ross Brasher

Larry Ross Brasher was born on Aug. 16,1944, near Jerico Springs, Mo., to Guy and Grace (Beydler) Brasher. He was the third of six children. Larry attended school at Jerico Springs and graduated from Sheldon High School. After graduating from High school Larry attended SMSU for one year and then returned back home to help run the family farm with his parents.

On Aug. 14, 1971, Larry was united in marriage to Helen Marie (Hill). Larry and Helen together with his parents operated a dairy and beef farm near Jerico Springs for the rest of his life. Larry and Helen attended Independence and Fairview Community church near Jerico Springs. Larry accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior during his time at SMSU. Larry went to be with the Lord on Sept. 13, 2021, at the age of 77.

Larry and Helen were united in marriage for 38 years to this union they raised five daughters, Christy (Rob) McKinney of El Dorado Springs, Mo., Charity (Ted)Stuber of Niangua, Mo., Carol (Bryan) Shumake of Golden City, Mo., Cherrie (David) Lewis of Jerico Springs, Mo., and Cathy (Daniel) Wilkinson of Springfield, Mo. Larry and Helen had 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Larry is also survived by two brothers, Jerry (Linda) Brasher of Nevada, Mo., and J.C Brasher of El Dorado Springs, Mo., and two sisters, Beverly (Dewayne) Cunningham of Greenfield, Mo., and Ruth Ann (Willie) Niehoff of Stockton, Mo., and a brother-in-law, Jim Jones of St. Louis, Mo., along with many other family and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Brasher; his parents, Guy and Grace Brasher; sister, Merribell Jones; sister-in-laws, Alena Brasher, Lois Simrell, and June Ramsey; and brother-in-laws, Curt Hill, Horace Hill, and Marvin Hill.

Funeral services for Larry were held Sept. 17, at Bland and Brumback Funeral Home in Stockton, Mo., at noon. Burial will be at Brasher Cemetery in Jerico Springs, Mo.
