Vonnie Lee “Sissy” Bogart

Vonnie Lee “Sissy” Bogart, 60, passed away Monday, Oct. 4, 2021, at her home in Rock Springs, Wyo. She died following a lengthy illness surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was a long-time resident of Rock Springs, WY, and former resident of Liberal, Mo.

She was born Sept. 30, 1961, in Fort Scott, Kan., the daughter of Ben Harrison Bogart and Hazel Rolando.

Vonnie has lived with disabilities her whole life, without being able to speak she had a following of many people who loved and cared deeply for her. She touched many lives and will never be forgotten.

Vonnie enjoyed her classical and gospel music. She loved her dogs, but “Big Lou” was her favorite. She also loved to sit in the sun and watch the birds, but most of all she had fun teasing her sisters. Vonnie was a Christian.

Survivors include one brother, Linn Bogart and his wife, Jennie, LaVerkin, Utah; three sisters, Connie McQueen, Rock Springs, Wyo., Bonnie Cullison and her husband, Derill, Nevada, Mo., and Lorie Rivera and her husband, Alan, Rock Springs, Wyo.; one aunt, Margaret Van Dorn; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, Larry Bogart; maternal grandparents, Anthony Rolando and his wife, Sara; and paternal grandparents, Ernest Bogart and his wife Laminda “Mindy."

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 15, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. Interment will follow in Bluff Cemetery, Barton County, Mo. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.

The family respectfully requests donations be made in Vonnie’s memory to Bluff Cemetery or State Special Olympics in care of the funeral home.
