Madeline Carol McNeely Sneed

Madeline Carol McNeely Sneed, 64, passed away Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Mo. Madeline "Maddy" was born in Kansas City, Kan., on Nov. 27, 1956, to Clarence Adolf and Pearletta Florence Scholes McNeely.

She lived in Kansas until her Freshman year in high school when her family moved to Sheldon, Missouri. There she met the love of her life, her husband, Clifford Earl Sneed Jr. They married on Sept. 30, 1973. Maddy graduated from Sheldon High School in 1974. After their kids were grown, she went back to school and received an associate's degree from Crowder College, and two bachelor's degrees in Criminal Law and Criminal Justice, joining Phi Beta Kappa and graduating Cuma Sum Laude from Missouri Southern State University, which led to her career with Children's Division, making a positive impact on the lives of countless kids and families in the area for the past decade.

Maddy enjoyed being around her family, especially her grandkids, her voice and presence will be missed cheering at their many sports games she attended. She was the biggest Kansas City Chiefs fan, even before being a Chiefs fan was 'cool.' She looked forward to weekends spent camping at the lake with her sister and best friend, Lola. She loved to make people laugh, she had the biggest sense of humor, sometimes laughing at her own jokes before she could even tell them all the way. Maddy was definitely a lover of life, a wonderful wife, mother, Nana, sister, aunt, and friend.

Madeline is survived by her husband, Clifford; three sons, Jerimy, Micah, and James; one daughter, Aleasha Schnedler; seven grandchildren, Daylon, Destiny, Dawnielle, Colton, Zoe, Bella, and Logan; three brothers, Butch McNeely (Bev), Joe McNeely (Vicki), and Jamie Larson (Ramona); four sisters, Patty Bishop, Georgia Gilkey (Fred), Lola Slyter (Paul) Ethel Brower; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, James Larson; and two brothers, Clarence "Micky" McNeely, and Elvie McNeely.

We invite anyone who knew Maddy to attend her Memorial Service on Saturday, Oct. 23, at 1 p.m., at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada, Mo. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
