Jefferson Wayne Norton Davis

Jefferson Wayne Norton Davis, 61, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022, at Nevada Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Jefferson was born Feb. 24, 1960, in Knoxville, Tenn., to Parke A. and Eleanor C. (Norton) Davis. He married Renee Gotviagehya on Jan. 12, 1996, in Topeka, Kan., and she survives of the home.

Jefferson was raised in Grainger County, Tenn., near Knoxville and graduated from Rutledge High School Class of 1978. Prior to attending college, he worked as a police officer in several cities in Tennessee jurisdictions. He then attended the University of Tennessee obtaining a degree in Library Science, and later graduated from Washburn University Law School in Topeka, Kan. Following law school, he practiced law in Topeka for a time. Jefferson was a longtime member of the Missouri, Kansas, and Tennessee Bar Associations. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed canning vegetables from his garden. He also loved animals and rescued many dogs and cats. He has resided in Nevada for the past five years.

In addition to his wife, Renee, he is survived by his brother, Anthony Davis, Blaine, Tenn.; and a sister, Mary Jane Davis, Knoxville, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 27, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada, with Pastor Roger Beach officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home.
