Joe and Virginia Habjan — 50 years

Joe and Virginia Habjan will celebrate 50 years of marriage on Feb. 5, 2022. The couple met in college while attending Pittsburg State in Pittsburg, Kan. St.Pius X Newman Student Center on campus brought them together solidifying their faith, friendship and love.

Following their graduations and Joe’s completion of service to the US Army, the couple were joined in the sacrament of Holy Matrimony at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Olathe, Kan.

Joe and Virginia have called Nevada, Mo., home and raised their six children in the community over the past 50 years. The Habjans are both retired from their careers, but still find time to actively volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, Community Outreach Food Pantry, 4-H and whatever task big or small that needs a helping hand.

The anniversary will be blessed at 5:30 p.m. Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nevada on Saturday, Feb. 5.

This summer the family will gather to celebrate their 50 years of marriage.
