John Lewis Mell Jr.

John Lewis Mell Jr., age 75, of Bronaugh, Mo., passed away Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022, at Via Christi Hospital, Pittsburg, Kan.

John was born Feb. 11, 1946, in Nevada, Mo., to John Lewis Mell Sr. and Jessie Alice (Potter) Mell. He grew up in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School in 1964 and worked for 30 years as a custodian for the Nevada R-5 School District before retiring in 2006. John enjoyed working on cars, trucks, small engines, or anything that was broke.

John is survived by one brother, Lafayette Mell, Bronaugh, Mo., as well as numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Jessie Mell.

A graveside service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 5, at McKill Cemetery, Bronaugh, Mo.

Memorials may be made to McKill Cemetery or Bronaugh High School Scholarship Fund with the funeral home serving as custodian.
