Justin Dale Boyd, 49, of Nevada, Mo., passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2022, at Nevada Regional Medical Center. Justin was born Sept. 18, 1972, in Lamar, Mo., the son of Jimmy Dale Boyd and Lee Ann Boyd.

Justin had a drive and compassion for the sport of baseball where he played in Miami, Okla., and Stockton, Mo., Justin finished his education in 1990 in Stockton. Justin enlisted in the U.S. Army and completed Bootcamp, accomplishing many goals and receiving an abundance of awards. Following bootcamp, he was offered a job with BNSF Railroadwhile continuing his service in the National Guard as a part of the MP (Military Police). Justin then married the love of his life, Sandy (Deckard) on September 24th, 1993. Which lead to three beautiful daughters, Shelby, Kylie, and Elizabeth. Justin and Sandy spent 30 years together and loved each other unconditionally, traveling for many years and meeting new friends while working on the road. Justin took on any task or challenge in his way with ambition and determination making Justin a well rounded and knowledgeable employee gaining the respect of those around him.

When it came to hobbies, Justin couldn’t have just one! He enjoyed baseball most of all, attending his daughter’s sporting events were the most enjoyable years of Justin’s life. In his later years of life Justin enjoyed collecting many things including baseball cards, books, and many collectible antiques. During his downtime, Justin enjoyed laughing, joking and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Justin understood the importance of studying the bible and knew the Lord’s word by heart.

Preceding Justin in death were grandparents, George and Annalee Meyers, Helen and Dale Boyd; father-in-law, Jim Deckard; and nephew, Jae Boyd.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy, of the home; three daughters, Shelby Harth (Austin) of Nevada, Mo., Kylie Boyd (Kade) of Mound City, Kan., and Elizabeth Campbell (Morgan) of Nevada, Mo.; five grandchildren, that he enjoyed more than anything in the world, Branynn, Baylor, and Baustin Harth, Rhett Campbell, and Kyndall Cummings; parents, Jimmy Dale and LeAnn Boyd of Jerico Springs, Mo.; brother, Jeremy Boyd (Amy) of El Dorado Springs, Mo.; sister, Jennifer Todd (Mitch) of El Dorado Springs, Mo.; and nieces and nephews include Temper Coleman, Riley Boyd, Jordan Boyd, and Alayna Todd.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 8, from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by funeral services held Wednesday, Feb. 9, at 2 p.m., at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, 3150 US-54, in El Dorado Springs, Mo. 64744. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Lamar, Mo. Minister Martin Hosiner officiating.

Pallbearers include Morgan Campbell, Kade Cummings, Bodie Deckard, Mitch Todd, Brandon Esry, Michael Graves, Bill Ramage, and Chipper Owsley. Honorary pallbearers are Greg Deckard, Aaron Rains and Riley Boyd.
