Crews complete east side of overpass

Tuesday, March 1, 2022

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), the overpass is on schedule to be completed by late-April or May. Currently, crews are working on the center part of the bridge, with the east side being completed. The bridge is a MoDOT project and is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million "Focus on Bridges program," which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state. Contractor crews have been working to remove the bridge deck/driving surface and replace it with a new surface. The contractor also will install new barrier walls, sidewalks, lighting, fences and guardrails at the ends of the bridge. The old structure was built in 1963 and had been experiencing increasing deterioration. Approximately 15,640 vehicles cross the bridge daily.
