Roy Edwin “Ed” Morris Jr.

Roy Edwin “Ed” Morris Jr. passed away on Jan. 17, 2022, in Phoenix, Ariz. He was born on Sept. 10, 1947, in Topeka, Kan., to Roy E. Morris Sr. and Dulcie Nadine (Hornecker) Morris.

Roy worked for the Santa Fe Railroad (which became BNSF Railway) for 30 years until he retired in 2002.

He is preceded in death by his wife and best friend, Dorothy Mae, who passed on Nov. 27, 2020. Roy is survived by his daughter Melissa (Morris) Kellow, Erie Colo.; stepdaughter, Kim (Ramsey) Sawyer, Overland Park, Kan.; stepson Chris Ramsey, New York, N.Y.; and his grandchildren, Tyler, Shane, Jenna, and Jack.

Roy was always making friends wherever he went and was best known for never being short on conversation and his vast collection of gems and minerals.

A private family ceremony will take place in late May.
