Nevada loses Tiger vs. Tiger showdown against Lamar

After a game that was originally going to be played yesterday but was moved up to Wednesday to beat the rain, Nevada suffered their fourth loss of the 2022 spring season in Lamar. They lost to the Lamar Tigers 5-4 after a call from the umpire when it was tied 4-4 in the bottom of the seventh, that sent the Lamar Tiger base runner home after a fake tag at third base by Caiden Klumpp when a ball was hit into right field. “It’s one of those rules that is there but never gets called,” said Head Coach of Nevada Baseball talking to Mike Harbit of KNEM KNMO Radio. “It’s one of those situations I think most umpires just say that it's playing the game. You hate to end a game like that on something so obscure like that, but it was called, and here we are.”
