Roland Harley Allen

Roland Harley Allen, age 74, of Schell City, Mo., passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo., following a sudden illness.

Harley was born Jan. 30, 1948, in Appleton City, Mo., to Roland Claud and Catherine Marie (Valentine) Allen. He had worked in Maintenance Construction and enjoyed playing his guitar, playing croquet, fishing, and hunting coons, squirrels, and rabbits. He had attended the Schell City Baptist Church.

Harley is survived by two brothers, Robert (Carol) Allen, McCook, Neb., and Ralph Allen, Butler, Mo.; one sister, Ruth (Harold) Woodcock, El Dorado Springs, Mo.; his girlfriend, Jennie Wright; three daughters, Jill Allen, Kathy Allen and Holly Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were two sons, Roland Harley Allen Jr. and Walter Scott Allen; two brothers, Wayne Allen and John Claude Allen; as well as one sister, Rose Marie Allen.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 17, at the Schell City Baptist Church.
