The 2022 Vernon County Youth Fair is just around the corner starting on Monday July 11, and goes through Saturday, July 16. “The youth fair is about a week away and we are excited to get people out here,” said Fair Board President Dennis Bowling. “We want them to see the hard work the kids have been putting in on their projects.”

As the Youth Fair will stay the same, some new changes have come to the Vernon County Fairgrounds. Bowling told Nevada Daily Mail, “We have made a few improvements to the fairgrounds this year: New bleachers, a few new roofs, and moving the beef scales, just to name a few. There have been many volunteers that have put in a lot of work out here. Without these people and the assistance of the county none of this would have been possible. Thank you to all those that helped."

But as some things change, more stay the same. The same events and exhibits will be showcased once again for people to come out and see. “In addition to all the animal and art exhibits, there is also an open youth rodeo on Wednesday night in the rodeo arena,” quoted Bowling. “The diner is open daily with great food and great people helping out. Come enjoy some food and good company.”

If you have ever been to the Vernon County Youth Fair, you know that it is one of the top County Fairs in the state of Missouri. When asked what makes VCYF special, Bowling explained it perfectly. “The thing that makes the Vernon County Youth Fair more successful than most is the continuous support from the community/county leaders and all the amazing people behind the scenes volunteering countless hours for the children.”
