Ronald Frank Fisk, 81, of Nevada, Mo., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022.

Ron, the son of Frank S. Fisk and Mary Elizabeth Cotter Fisk, was born in Miami, Okla., on March 19, 1941. Ron moved with his family to Nevada in December of 1944. He attended Benton grade school and the former Nevada Junior High-Senior High until it burned in 1957. He graduated from the present Nevada High School with the first graduating class of 1959. He then attended Central Missouri State College graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 1963 and with a Master of Arts in Economics in 1964. Ron taught in the Business Department at Eastern Carolina College in Cullowhee, N.C., during the 1964-65 school year. He returned to Missouri in 1965 and began teaching in the Business Department at Southwest Missouri State College in Springfield, Mo., until he returned to school in 1971. He went to the University of Missouri, Kansas City Law School where he received a Juris Doctor With Distinction in 1974. In 1974, Ron returned to his hometown of Nevada to practice law with Don Kennedy. After Don became the Circuit Judge in 1977 Ron remained as a sole practitioner and practiced until Dec. 31, 2018.

Ron’s Faith was very important to him. He was a member of First Baptist Church for many years where he served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and was on many committees.

Ron was a member of the Rotary Club for many years and served on the Nevada Regional Medical Center Board. He was chairman of the L.F. Richardson Foundation for many years. Ron was a proud member of the Wyandotte Nation and for many years went to Culture Week and Annual tribal Meeting in Wyandotte, Okla. He last attended in 2019.

Preceding him in death are his parents and infant sister, Sonia Ann. Survivors include his children, daughter, Kristin Fisk Worster (Eric) Overland Park, Kan., and son, Brian Frank Fisk Nevada, Mo.; grandchildren, Eleanor Worster and Madeline Worster Overland Park, Kan.; sister, Donna Darnold and brother-in-law David Darnold, Nevada; two nieces Jill Hamilton, Olathe, Kan., and Courtney Pisciotta (Brach) Overland Park, Kan.; two great-nephews, Mason Hamilton and Bowen Pisciotta; and four great-nieces, Avery Hamilton, Olivia Hamilton, Molly Hamilton and Harper Pisciotta.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 3, at the First Baptist Church, in Nevada, with Dr. Kevin Daugherty and Pastor Hubert Fox officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park in Nevada. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada.

Memorials are suggested in his memory to Nevada R-5 Scholarship Foundation or First Baptist Church in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
