Ted Gene Weber

Ted Gene Weber, 76, formerly of Nevada, Mo., passed away on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022, at his home in Independence, Mo. He was born on Oct. 27, 1946, in Nevada, Mo., to Henry “Tony” and Della Ruth (Hinds) Weber. 

He was married to his best friend, Lillie Rackley on April 22, 1967, and she preceded him in death in 2013.

Raised in Nevada, Ted was a graduate of the Nevada High School Class of 1964. Following high school, he and his father, Tony, operated the Phillips 66 gas station in Nevada for several years before Ted went to work for Hallmark in KC in 1968. Ted stayed with the company for 35 years before retiring at the age of 55.

Ted loved people. Knowing Ted was having a friend for life. He’d drop anything to help out in any way he could. Some might call him a handy man or a jack of all trades, but he truly just enjoyed being with neighbors, friends, and family. Ted was known as a kind, generous, and faithful person. He enjoyed fishing, cheering on his favorite sports team, the Cardinals, dancing, and talking politics. Ted’s presence will be missed greatly.

Survivors include three brothers, his twin brother, Fred Weber, St. Joseph, Mo.; Mike Weber, Friendswood, Texas; and Chris Weber (Patti), Monett, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Lillie, he was preceded in death by his parents; son, Anthony Weber; brother, Jack Weber; and beloved friend, Sue Zobans.  

Inurnment will be held at a later date in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens, Independence, Mo. No service is planned.
