Karan Sue Osmond, 69, Nevada, Mo., passed away on, Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, at the Kansas University Medical Center, in Kansas City, Kan., following a lengthy illness. Karan was born April 17, 1953, in Nevada, to Gregg Marvin and Norma Beatrice (Dodge) Miller. She was married to Steven Cornett in 1975 and he preceded her in death. She later was married to Kevin Osmond on June 30, 1989, in Sioux Falls, S.D. and he preceded her in death on Nov. 13, 2020.

Karan was raised in Nevada and attended Nevada High School. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Barone Alzeheimer’s Care Center as well as several other care facilities until her retirement due to her disabilities. Karan was a longtime member of the Calvary Baptist Church and had a great love for animals.

Survivors include three children, Chris Cornett (Jessica), of Nevada, Lisa Aguilar (Jeremy), Nevada, and Jason Gilliland (Amber) of Nevada; 11 grandchildren, Abby, Emma, Mallery, Kennedy, Chrissy, Tyler, Zach, Shawn, Jaylynn, Hailey, and Trey; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Jim Miller(Carol)) of Nevada; and her sister, Katie Scott (Kip) of Nevada. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her two husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Cathy Gilliland and Shelia Harper; a brother, Mike Miller; and a granddaughter, Amelia.

Funeral services for Karan will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 17, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada, with Pastor Terry Mosher officiating. Cremation will follow the service. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home on Friday evening.
