The Nevada City Council met in regular session Tuesday evening with multiple new and old business items to consider.

At the top of the meeting, the council approved the appointment of Caroline Taylor to the Library Board, term expiring June 2025.

Next, the council unanimously approved Resolution No. 1695. This resolution accepts the bid and authorizes the payment to CDL Electric, of Pittsburg, Kan., in the not-to-exceed amount of $25,000 for the replacement of a light pole, fixture, and base.

In old business, the council unanimously approved the second readings of several ordinances, including an agreement between the City of Nevada and the Missouri Office of Administration and the Missouri National Guard for connecting Camp Clark Military Training Facility to the city's sewer system; the execution of a governmental cooperative contract with Vernon County and Vernon County Assessor pertaining to assessments of real and personal properties within the corporate limits of Nevada, Mo.; and executing an agreement with Water's Edge Aquatic Design of Lenexa, Kan., for the visioning and needs analysis of the Walton Aquatic Center Pool.

Finally, the council passed on first reading three new business items including Bill No. 2023-013. This special ordinance would authorize the execution of a public services agreement with Nevada/Vernon County Chamber of Commerce for tourism operations.
