Boil order lifted for CPWS District #1

The Consolidated Public Water Supply (CPWS) District #1 of Vernon County announced on Friday that the previously issued boil order for its customers has been lifted.

The district noted that the area affected was located at a sampling site near the 43 Highway and 54 Highway intersection. Additionally, samples upstream and downstream from the affected area were negative, therefore confining it to a small area.

The district stated that it didn't believe that any customers were ever at risk, however, to ensure safety it followed the Missouri Department of Natural Resources' (DNR) guidelines for reporting and a boil order had been issued for the entire system.
