Motorists encouraged to drive safely during transportation of large home

Starting today, April 21, at 9 a.m., house moving crews will transport a large home from the 1400 Block of North Ash and McClain streets to the 1200 Block of North Main Street.

City officials noted that utility companies, State Highway Patrol, MoDot, and City Police will assist in the house transport by lifting and disconnecting power and communication lines, cutting tree limbs, if needed, and provide traffic control along the route.

Expect delays and street closures along the route from the 1400 Block of North Ash to West Atlantic Street to North Main Street.

Motorists are strongly encouraged to practice safe driving and plan for alternative routes.
