Larry Dean Kerbs

Larry Dean Kerbs, 68, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Nevada Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Larry was born Aug. 27, 1954, in Sheldon, Mo., to Henry and Verna B. (Margheim) Kerbs, Jr. He married Nancy Delehanty on Dec. 28, 1985, in Martinez, Calif., and she survives of the home.

Larry grew up on the family farm in rural Nevada and graduated from Bronaugh High School with the Class of 1972. He attended the University of Missouri on the John Tompkins Scholarship and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture. While at MU, Larry was a member of the university livestock judging team. Later he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Missouri Southern State College in Joplin. Larry was employed in manufacturing by Fram-Nevada for 17 years, then 9 years at TAMKO in Lamar, Mo. In addition, he owned and operated Buddy’s Lawn Service for 19 years with his son, as well as farming and raising cattle his whole life.

In addition to his wife Nancy, he is survived by a daughter, Mary Katherine Best (Lyle), Linn, Mo.; a son, Thomas Kerbs, Nevada; two grandchildren, Lincoln Best and Theodore Best; one brother, Bobby Kerbs (Deana), Nevada; and a sister, Donna Bolser (Jerry), Nevada; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Tommy Kerbs; and one sister, Beverly Millman.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Monday, July 10, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada. A Private Committal will be held on the Family Farm at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the Everett Forkner Livestock Judging Endowment Fund at the University of Missouri in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
