The Schell City Fall Festival took place over the weekend and proved to be a resounding success and a memorable event for all who attended. The annual celebration showcased a wide array of activities and entertainment that left festival-goers looking forward to next year's festival.

From the moment attendees arrived, there was an abundance of entertainment options to choose from. The festival's highlights included the Royalty Contest; the Car/Tractor/Truck Show; the Kids Pedal Tractor Pull; and the highly anticipated parade. Children were also treated to an assortment of inflatables that brought smiles and laughter throughout the day.

One of the culinary highlights of the event was the famous Smorgasbord Dinner. The spread featured fresh fried fish strips or chicken strips, complete with all the trimmings, a dessert, and a drink.

For those seeking a little friendly competition, the Golf Ball Challenge Contest and the Baby Show Contest provided plenty of excitement.

Kamber Cain, hailing from nearby El Dorado Springs, Mo., kicked off the musical entertainment lineup with an acoustic set, accompanied by James Reasoner. The Portia Corner Band, a local favorite with most of its members originating from the Nevada area, took the stage next.Wrapping up the night, Rick Cook's Band, well-known in the Four States area and originating from Kansas, closed the festival with an electrifying performance.

Throughout the festival, attendees had the opportunity to support various vendors, the Northeast Vernon County (NEVC) School's different organizations, and local groups based in Schell City.
