The first-ever Nevada Fall Festival, held on Saturday, Oct. 28, proved to be a memorable event despite facing inclement weather. The event was organized through a collaborative effort between Double K Country 97.5 FM, the Nevada Chamber of Commerce, the Nevada Housing Authority, the City of Nevada, and the YMCA.

The festival offered an array of exciting activities that were enjoyed by local residents and visitors. Among the highlights were vendor stalls, food trucks, bounce houses, a fall-themed photo booth, axe-throwing, and chainsaw sculpture demonstrations. Attendees had the chance to showcase their barbecue skills in the Low and Slow BBQ Contest and test their cornhole skills in a tournament. The musical backdrop for the day was provided by the "Sober As A Judge" Band.

As the event kicked off in the morning, a sizable crowd gathered to take in the festivities at Marmaduke Park. Unfortunately, as the day progressed, the weather took a turn for the worse, leading to the cancellation of some outdoor events.

In response to the inclement weather, organizers swiftly adapted to ensure the festival's continuity. Some events were relocated to the Elks Bingo Hall, allowing participants and attendees to stay dry.

Despite the less-than-ideal weather conditions, the barbecue contest and Cornhole Tournament remained continued at the new location. In the barbecue contest, BS Ventures, consisting of Steve Brier and Bill Gregory, took home the first-place prize, while Landen Sloniker secured second place.

Steve Stephenson and Robert Cole emerged as the victorious duo in the Cornhole Tournament.
