Leslie Calvin Stone

Leslie Calvin Stone, 76, Milo, MO, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada. Les was born February 1, 1948 in McCook, NE to Dick L. and Etna M. (Thornley) Stone. He married Linda Lou Burris on September 5, 1967 in Nevada, MO and she preceded him in death in August of 2023.

     Les attended Nevada High School. He then served 18 months in the United States Army in Vietnam from 1968-969.  Les worked for Brown Motor Company in Nevada from 1975 thru 1998, a year at Guthrie Motors, five years at Auto Spot, and several years at Len’s Auto until his retirement.

     Survivors include two children, Les Stone, Jr. (Lorene), Moundville, MO, and Lele Woodcook (Chuck), Nevada; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a sister, Barbara Phelps, Liberal, MO.  In addition to his wife, Linda, he was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Dave Stone, Harry Stone, and Terry Stone; a sister, Nancy Burris; and an infant son, Pete. 

     Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor Kerry Honeycutt officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Moore Cemetery in Nevada. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Monday evening at the funeral home.
