Lady Tigers Fall in Valiant Effort in District Championship

The Nevada Lady Tigers varsity basketball squad traveled to Harrisonville High School on Friday night to compete for the MSHSAA Class 4 District 13 championship against Notre Dame de Sion. Nevada was coming off a 7 point win on Wednesday in the semifinals against Pleasant Hill and stood at 18-9 heading into tonight’s contest. The Notre Dame de Sion Storm entered the game at 14-10.   Notre Dame was averaging 51 points on offense while giving up 39 points defensively.  By comparison, Nevada was averaging 51 points a game offensively while giving up just 40 points per contest on defense.  The two teams have met twice over the last 4 years in the district tournament with each team gaining a win.
