Roxanna Marie Leer

   Roxanna Marie Leer, 61, Sheldon, MO, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024 at her home in Sheldon following a lengthy illness. Roxanna was born March 5, 1962 in Nevada, MO to Robert A. and Nellie M. (Mays) Clayton. She was united in marriage to Troy Leer on December 1, 1979 in Nevada and he survives of the home.

     Roxanna attended Nevada High School. She has worked at Value Merchandising in Fort Scott, KS for the past 27 years. Roxanna lived for a number of years in Moundville, MO and then made her home in Sheldon where she has resided for the past 23 years. She enjoyed fishing, watching Friday night races at Nevada Speedway, family get togethers, and going camping. Roxanna was a member of the Eagles Lodge, and the Eagle Riders.

     In addition to her husband Troy, Roxanna is survived by two sons: Brandon Leer (Jennifer), Nevada, and Christopher Leer, Nevada; grandchildren, Chelsea Leiker (Zach), Pittsburg, KS, Victoria Peery (Ethan Ray), Nevada, Keana Dickinson, Kansas City, MO, Trinity Williams, Pleasanton, KS, Daylen Williams, ND, and Ashton Williams, Ft. Scott, KS; her father, Robert Clayton (Kaethe), Pittsburg, MO; one brother, Randy Ladwig, Kansas City, MO; a sister, Rose Ladwig, Nevada; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nellie Ladwig, a brother, Rick Clayton, and an infant daughter, Bethany Nicole. 

     Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Ray Dean Scism officiating. Interment will follow in Balltown Cemetery in Horton, MO. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
