Sylvania Irene Wallace, age 82, Archie, Missouri went home to be with the Lord on April 1st, 2024 at 3:55 am at Crown Rehab in Harrisonville, Missouri. We feel that sums up our wonderful Moma’s great sense of humor, earning her wings on April Fool’s Day. Irene, as she was known by most of us, was born on November 5, 1941at the Rural Mound Township home and was the daughter of Raymond Earnest Roby and Nora Sylvania Lukenbill. Irene was proceeded in death by her husband, Kenneth Wayne Wallace; daughter, Rhonda Staton (Henderson); son, Billy Gene Henderson; and X-husband Rolland G Henderson. Also surviving are her siblings, James, Kay, Frank, Gene, Jerry, Norma, and Dean.

Irene worked for Upholstery Business refinishing furniture and automobiles. She was a seamstress, cook, cleaner, and waitress for several other business. She was always a dedicated employee and her bosses appeared to love her dependability and enthusiasm and love for her careers.

Irene was the epitome of grit. The definition of grit is courage and resolve; strength of character. Life wasn’t always kind to her, but she would not let that stop her from moving forward and achieving her goals. She was small but fierce. She was loyal, faithful, blessed with a great sense of humor, a tad bit cantankerous, and you better not mess with her family or friends.

Irene loved to dance and sing, was a fixer, very independent and full of spice and vinegar. Talk about the life of a party gathering no matter how big or small. Irene loved riding Harleys, inside of 18-wheeler tractor trucks, traveling, fishing, gardening, casinos, scratch offs, and at times even went hunting.

Irene was proud to be a very active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Nevada, Missouri AERIE # 37701.
