Becky Marie Folsom, age 78, of Deerfield, MO, passed away, Thursday, May 8, 2025, with her family at her side.

A woman of grit, heart, and unmistakable spirit

Becky Folsom was a force to be reckoned with—a woman who lived life on her own terms, with fierce loyalty and a deep, unwavering love for the people and things that mattered most to her. A loving mother, a lifelong caregiver, and a woman with just the right mix of sass and softness, Becky left her mark on everyone lucky enough to know her.

She built a long and meaningful career as a nurse, working as a Certified Medication Technician (CMT), where she poured her strength, skill, and compassion into helping others. She had the kind of no-nonsense approach that comforted people—not because she sugar-coated things, but because they knew she meant every word. Her patients weren’t just cases to her—they were people. And she treated them with the same care and candor she gave to her own loved ones.

Outside of work, Becky had a few guilty pleasures that brought her joy: scratch-off lottery tickets, the occasional gamble, and the thrill of leaving things up to chance. She could light up at the sound of a slot machine, just as easily as she could quiet down with a coloring book and a word search puzzle—simple pastimes that offered her a sense of calm and focus.

Becky also had a deep love for animals — especially the big-eyed, gentle dairy cows she admired so fondly. Her connection to animals was as honest and true as the way she connected to people. She understood the power of quiet companionship, and she gave her love freely to both two-legged and four-legged beings.

But above all else, Becky loved her family. Fiercely. Unconditionally. They were her world, her legacy, and her reason for fighting through the hard days. She protected, she provided, and she showed up—always. Her love was loud and lasting, and her presence was a steady anchor in a world that so often shifts.

Becky Folsom leaves behind a legacy of strength, humor, resilience, and love. She wasn’t perfect—and she’d be the first to tell you that—but she was real, and she was ours. And the world feels a little dimmer without her in it.

We will miss her laugh, her stubborn streak, her warm hugs, and even the way she’d roll her eyes when she was right (which, let’s be honest, was most of the time). Becky, thank you for your love, your care, your grit—and for being exactly who you were.

Rest easy. You’ve more than earned it.

In addition to her husband Ivan, Becky was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson, Nathaniel Folsom, and a sister, Joann Lawson. Survivors include four children, Tammy Miller (Brian), Samantha Bebee (Carl), Christine Folsom-Fleig Sr. (Richard), Ivan Folsom Jr. (Stacey); grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Chelsie Bubel (Justin), Hailey Miller, Ethan Bebee, Richard L. Fleig Jr., Richard L. Fleig III, Jessica Smith (Eric), Wyatt Hatmaker, Dr. Viola M. Folsom, RJ Budd, Ivan G. Folsom III, (Bubba), and Christian Radford.
