Dick Allen Claflin

Dick Allen Claflin, age 75 of Nixa, Missouri passed away at his home November 16, 2025 surrounded by family. He was born August 3, 1950 in Pittsburg, Kansas to Charlie Clark Claflin and Electa Lee Kraus Claflin. Dick grew up in Bronaugh, Missouri and graduated from Liberal High School in 1968. He held fond memories of boy scouts and camping trips growing up. He was a truck driver for 56 years with a passion for hauling cattle with no major accidents. He dedicated 28 years to the Army National Guard. He enjoyed old western movies, family dinners, and spending time with his grandkids.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother Tom Charles Claflin.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Brenda Kay Claflin; his children: Stacey Poe and husband Larry Poe, Cheryl Cox and partner Carl Davis, Cheryl Carter and husband Matthew Ridpath, Bud Shelby and wife Connie Shelby; grandchildren: Levi Richards, Chelsea Harper, Lakota Poe, Ashley Green and husband Jess Green, Clayton Cox and wife Alecia Cox, Ruger Cox and wife Kymeron Cox, Shelby Cox, Stephanie Gerhard and husband Paul Gerhard, Heather Edgar, Kaylee Williams and husband Austin Williams, Karissa Jordan, Tori Carter, Trace Carter, Kaci Dickerson and husband Deven Dickerson, Kenzy Shelby, and Kiley Shelby; 36 great-grandchildren; a brother Harry Leroy Claflin and wife Mary Claflin; other relatives and many friends.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2025 at Johns Chapel with burial to follow in Johns Chapel Cemetery with full Military Honors. Visitation will be held before the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
