The McGennis Youth Center near Rich Hill, Mo., a 160-acre area donated in the mid-60s by brother and sister, Connie and Mary McGennis, is nearing an important birthday next year marking 50 years of serving the youth and families in the area. In addition to cottages for youth camps, the center includes a small restored chapel, moved onto the grounds from Bates County, a red barn, as well as a 6-acre lake.
