Pecan plant tour

The Nevada/Vernon County Chamber of Commerce sponsored an Oct. 12 tour of the Missouri Northern Pecan Growers plant in northeast Nevada.
  • Chris DeSpain prepares tags to identify tubs of pecans just arrived from growers at the plant. The process entails sizing, washing, sanitizing, cracking, shelling, sizing again, blowing, sorting, blowing again, inspecting and boxing.
