Lee wins junior shooting competition

The Vernon County 4-H Shooting Sports Club held a competition at the Sheldon Trap Club on Sunday.

Kevin Lee was near perfect with 49 hits in 50 attempts to claim the junior division championship.

Second place was Ethan Baldwin with 45/50; third went to Skylar Beard with 39/50; fourth was Megan Westerhold with 37/50 and in fifth place, Joshua Jeffries with 34/50.

In the senior division, Heath Scotten won the championship with 47 targets hit in 50 attempts, edging Derek Minor with 46/50.

Third place went to Matt Byer with 44/50, while fourth place resulted in a tie between John Whitworth and Kyle Cushard, each with 41/50.

Tyler Greer placed fifth with 39/50.

Other scores were J.R. Amick (38/50), Daniel Amick (37/50 and Darcy Scotten (6/25).
