Gale A. Mullins

Gale A. Mullins, 69, Nevada, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at Nevada Regional Medical Center. He was born Aug. 27, 1934, in Jerome, Idaho, to Archibald Thomas Mullins and Thelma N. Crother Mullins. He married Elaine Butterfield on Nov. 14, 1958, in Nevada, Mo., and she survives of the home.

Mr. Mullins grew up in Dederick and graduated from El Dorado Springs High School in 1953. He served in the U.S. Army for three years from 1955 to 1958. Gale was a truck driver most of his working life. He was a member of the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church, Dederick, Mo.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Elaine, include one son, Kenneth Mullins, Reeds Springs, Mo.; three daughters, Pam Bennett, Iola, Kan., Jan Chadd and Cindy Clark, both of Neosho Falls, Kan.; 16 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Shirley Vickers and Ruth Brown, both of El Dorado Springs, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother, Richard.

Graveside services were held at 3 p.m., Friday, Jan. 2, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dederick, Mo., with Ron Greenway and Justin Brodie officiating. Pallbearers were Clinton Vickers, Chris Vickers, Jerry Brown, Tom Brown, Brian Brown and Glenn Fincher.

Memorials may be given to the Vernon County Cancer Relief Fund in care of Betty Easley, 167 Country Club Drive, Nevada, Mo., or to Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Association in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
