Craig Wendell Johnson, 49, Nevada died suddenly Friday, April 23, 2004, at Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada. He was born Nov. 3, 1954, in Nevada to Horace Wendell Johnson and Joan Louise True Johnson.

He lived all his life in Nevada and Vernon County. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1973. He was self employed in the trucking business his entire working life.

Survivors include his father, Horace Johnson, Nevada; mother, Joan Johnson, Nevada; one brother, Brantley Johnson, Nevada; two sisters, Christy Johnson and Natalie Baker, both of Nevada; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., on Monday, April 26, at Ferry Funeral Home with Dr. William Cox officiating. Musical selections were "Time in a Bottle" and "Morning has broken." Pallbearers were Steve Mabry, Tracy Beisly, Doug Kleen, Jason Bond, Mike Compton and Roger Gilbert. Interment was in Newton Burial Park.

The family suggests that memorials may be made, in his memory, to the D.A.R.E. program in care of Nevada High School or the funeral home.
