Hazel Marie Pokorny, 92, Nevada, died Thursday, May 20, 2004, at the Barone Alzheimer's Care Center in Nevada. She was born June 6, 1911, in Nevada, to Willis Earl Wilcox and Anna Updergraft Wilcox. She was married in Nevada, to Justin Merle Pokorny who preceded her in death. She was raised in Nevada and attended Nevada High School. She later graduated from Cottey College in Nevada. She worked for a number of years at the Vernon County Courthouse and later worked for many years as a legal secretary for the Swing Law Firm. She also helped her husband operate their business, Pokorny's Drug Store. She was a member of the Athena's and the Presbyterian Women's Club in Nevada.
Survivors include one sister, Ruth Ann Frazee, Largo, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 24, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Greg Ferree officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park in Nevada.
