Tiger harriers place fifth

The Nevada Tigers cross country team finished fifth out of 16 teams Thursday at the Pittsburg Invitational in Pittsburg, Kan.

Mason Benn was the highest individual finisher for Nevada, placing fifth overall with a time of 17 minutes, 10 seconds on the 5,000-meter course.

Jim Fay was second on the team, 12th overall with a time of 17:47. Trevor Hinkle (17:56) was 16th overall, Bill Fay (18:56) was 34th and Stephen Newland (20:00) was 52nd.

Nevada's junior varsity was third while the girls were fourth in junior varsity competition.
