Water works committee drafts proposal

Proposition made to the committee but its terms are not known

The result of the conference held by the taxpayers committee with J.B. Quigley has not been given out to the public, at least in detail. Quigley made a proposition to the committee and will submit the same in writing.

The committee will make more investigations and ascertain more facts, then will make its report to the city council in writing. The committee will not complete its work in time to report to the council tomorrow night.

Scouts have wet time of it at camp

By noon Saturday, approximately 65 Boy Scouts from four Nevada troops and one from Liberal, Kan., had reported in at the weekend Camporee at Camp Clark. Two explorer Posts from Nevada set up a concession stand, but the weather was not conducive to the consumption of too many cold drinks.

Most of the Saturday morning's schedule was suspended as the youths attempted to start fires with soaked wood and dry out sodden bedding and clothes after the Friday night and Saturday morning rains.

Undoubtedly an addition to the next quarter's Scout program will be instruction in the pitching of pup tents.
