William "Bill" Charles Wimer

William "Bill" Charles Wimer, 84, died Nov. 30, 2004, at the Sonora Regional Medical Center in Sonora, Calif. He was born July 6, 1920, in Nevada, to William Clark Wimer and Mabel Ella Andrews Wimer.

Mr. Wimer lived in Sonora, Calif., since 1968. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years and worked for the U.S. Forest Service for 10 years as a surveyor. He was an avid golfer and bowler. He enjoyed fishing and traveling. He was a member of the Sonora Elks Lodge for approximately 60 years.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Margaret Wimer, Sonora, Calif.; one sister-in-law, Laverne Harris, Nevada; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jack Andrew Wimer.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, at Newton Burial Park, Nevada, with John Nichols officiating.

Friends may call after Monday and until 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
